People talk about resilience like it’s the goal.
Cool. You took the hit. You bounced back. Gold star.
But what if your life was wired to get better from chaos? Not just survive failure — weaponize it.
This is the playbook I run. It’s not motivational. It’s operational.
💥 Antifragile = Optionality x Redundancy x Aggression
Antifragile people don’t fear black swans. They farm them.
When life hits:
- fragile breaks
- resilient absorbs
- antifragile compounds
🧪 Spin Plates (MVT Lifestyle)
I don’t run one big bet. I run 6 small ones.
Minimum Viable Thriving = test what makes you feel alive and can scale.
• 2 client retainers → stable income
• SaaS micro-bet → asymmetric upside
• Digital product → passive growth
• Daily writing → long-tail serendipity
• Investing → convexity
• Fitness → bulletproof baseline
More plates = more luck surface area.
💰 Multiple Income Streams
If you rely on 1 stream, you’re swimming naked.
- Services = fast cash
- Products = leverage
- Assets = security
Optionality = power.
🏚 Practise Poverty
“Wear the cheap clothes. Eat the beans.” — Seneca
Live like you’ve already lost it all. Proves you can.
Fear dies after that.
I do 1–2 “poverty sprints” every year.
No luxuries. No takeout. No ego. Just presence.
✈️ Refundable Everything
I buy refundable flights. I make reversible choices.
Most stress is from feeling trapped.
Remove the trap.
🧃 Turn Sh*t Into Sugar
Bad thing happens? Frame it as content.
Or leverage. Or plot twist.
Your worst moments are renewable energy if you alchemize them fast.
Example: Lost $6k in a deal? Wrote a thread that gained 400 followers.
🕳 Do Nothing (Strategic Laziness)
Not every fire is yours to put out. Let bad ideas die on their own.
I call this “positive apathy.”
Sit still. Let entropy filter what matters.
🔁 Run MVTs (Minimum Viable Tests)
MVPs are for products.
MVTs are for life.
Want to start a podcast? Do 3 episodes.
Want to move cities? Do a 10-day trial. Want to date? Run “coffee chat” experiments.
Don’t commit. Sample.
🥋 Learn MMA (or equivalent)
Knowing how to break a wrist makes you walk different.
MMA gave me:
- focus under pressure
- failure as feedback
- clarity in chaos
Also: you don’t fear Twitter trolls when you’ve been choked out IRL.
🔫 Buy an AR-15 (or equivalent power move)
This isn’t about paranoia.
It’s about never outsourcing security.
Antifragile people trust themselves with power.
Get licensed. Be prepared.
Hope is not a strategy.
🧾 Term Insurance + Wills
I’ve got life insurance, accidental death, and a will.
Because if I die, the people I love shouldn’t suffer for my lack of planning.
That’s antifragile love.
🕰 Add Buffers
- Add 25% to any estimate
- Double all project timelines
- Leave 30 min early
Buffers = calm.
Buffers = readiness.
📉 Reduce Downside Exposure
Say no faster.
Avoid bad clients.
Cut losses early.
When in doubt, delete access.
⚙️ Process > Outcome
Write daily even when no one reads.
Ship even if it flops.
Work out even if you’re not shredded.
The doing makes you stronger.
🧠 Bonus Antifragile Tactics (From the Field)
🧬 Default to Asymmetry
Always choose bets where the upside is massive and the downside is capped.
- Send the email
- Ship the tweet
- Launch the MVP
📌 The key isn’t being right. It’s having uncapped upside when you are.
🧯 Build in Failure Slots
Schedule space to crash. Don’t stack days like dominos.
- One unscheduled day per week
- One week off per quarter
📌 Slack in the system = stress doesn’t cascade.
🦠 Inoculate Yourself
Expose yourself to small, controlled doses of stress, uncertainty, chaos.
- Take small public Ls
- Intentionally get rejected (Rejection Therapy)
- Practice saying no
📌 Tiny burns today = fireproof tomorrow.
🪓 Burn The Boats (Sometimes)
Optionality is great, but sometimes fragility sharpens focus.
- Quit your backup plan
- Go all in on one channel
- Delete the safety draft
📌 When the only way out is through, you move different.
🪞 Radical Self-Audit
Most people lie to themselves to preserve identity. Antifragile people refactor it.
- Track where you lie, cope, flinch
- Review weekly for BS patterns
- Call your own bluff
📌 Treat your ego like an old product. Rebuild or kill it.
Final Thought
You don’t become antifragile by reading books. You become antifragile by getting hit and compounding from it.
This isn’t a goal. It’s a posture.
Let chaos come. You’re built for it.
